It's a Girl!

We are very excited to announce that Little Number 2 will be a girl! We are so excited to be expecting another sweet girl into our home and hearts. She is so loved already and Big Sister Audrey is getting quite excited about her arrival.

The baby looks good, though a bit uncooperative during the ultrasound. The technician was unable to see a few things clearly, because little miss what being shy and either sleeping or laying deep in a pocket of my uterus, so I will have another ultrasound in a month to get a better picture of her. She was able to see all the super important things, like her brain, heart, kidneys, bladder, etc. and she is quite healthy. She woke up long enough to show us her little tush and verify that much desired news that she was in fact a little girl. She is growing well and I am measuring right on at 20 cm....which is right where I should be at 20 weeks. My doctor says my due date is still right on. I have gained only 6 lbs. so far, but he says that I am doing great and my blood pressure is perfect. I am expecting a whallop of a weight gain one month, which happened here and there with Audrey, though I think I gained more quickly with my first pregnancy. I guess running after a 2 year old has kept me a little busier this time around!

Little Girl has been giving me lots of little punches and kicks and flips lately, mostly midday and late in the evenings. And always after I have eaten something delicious. :) While I was reading to Audrey this morning, she laid her head on my tummy and the baby kept moving around, I think at the close proximity of the sound of her sisters voice. It will really be fun when Audrey can feel those kicks too.

I cannot believe we are going to have two girls! I'm so thrilled Audrey is going to have a sister! I can only imagine the fun they will have together. I can already see how Audrey is going to show little sister the ropes and teach her how to do things. Patrick will truly be outnumbered, but I told him it's his lot in life to be surrounded by beautiful women, and that he was a lucky duck! :) He agreed!
