at two.....

Audrey is:
-24 lbs.
-her hair is getting so so long and she likes picking out her bows.
-she likes to hold her hair, and mine, when it's windy outside so our hair doesn't get messed up.
-she loves to build! duplos, wooden blocks, mega blocks, stacking cups...she's our little architect
-she loves animals and learning about them and playing with small replicas of them. She also loves playing zoo.
-she loves babies and now says she's their Mommy. She's sweet with them and will say....
"awww.....little baby, you so cuuuuuute", "whasa matter little cutie?" all the while making this sweet little scrunched up face of love at them.
-loves loves loves playdoh, painting, coloring and all things crafty and artistic! Mommy's girl!
-enjoys riding on Daddy's back and asks him to multiple times a day. It's her preferred means of travel!:)
-loves books and always asks to "read nother one!!!"
-has lately, when Patrick and I are having a conversation or talking on the phone she'll say "What are you guys talking bout?" Cracks us up!
-Also while Patrick and I are talking, especially at dinner and we laugh at something, she covers her mouth and pretends that she thinks what we said was funny too, and does this little pretend laugh. :)
-Still loves fruits and veggies and exists mainly on them.....though she has definitely inherited her Daddy's sweet tooth. The girl loves candy and will do nearly anything for a gummy bear or a lollipop(dumdum).
-loves her cousin and her friends. She'll talk about playing with them all the time.
-enjoys singing and dancing and fully expects everyone to get up and dance with her...she insists!
-loves her music class and story time at the Library.
-loves to spin...the thrill she gets from spinning around...it's dizzying!
-enjoys puzzles
-loves baths with Mommy
-has a ton of loveys, including: her Mimi's, "soft blankey" as she calls it. It has the satin on one side and minky in the other, her "lemon blankey", the one I made her at the beginning of summer this year, and Bear, who has had a post all his own. She has quite the entourage when getting out of bed in the mornings and after nap.
-thinks if anything is broken or torn, Mommy can fix it. She is always saying "Mommy can sew it" or "Mommy has tape....tape it Mommy".
-is funny, beautiful and full of LOVE and LIFE!

Is it possible that we love her even more now than we did 2 years ago when she was placed in our arms!? Somehow we do. She brings us such joy and laughter. Thank you God for this gift!

Sewing and Adorable Audrey

I whipped Audrey up this cute "Bapron", I found the pattern and how to at a blog I read daily, Craftiness is not Optional. Jess has the cutest ideas for clothes for her two daughters and I am constantly flooded with inspiration from her site.
Here is Audrey posing in her bib/apron. It goes over her arms, like a top and ties at the back of the neck. It's great! I am in the middle of making her another one, just longer and out of oilcloth. It'll be perfect for her to wear when playing in her water table on those days I need her to stay dry.
Love that toothy grin!
I also made my girl this sweet little peasant top. This picture isn't great of the top, it's hard to slow the girl down. But it's a super cute top! and she is totally comfy in it...plus plus! The pic shows her sweet little pigtails off nicely. We say she has pigtails like Pippy. She doesn't know who that is, but she likes the pigtails!;) It's proven to be a great style for her. Keeps her loooong hair off her neck and keeps me from having to constantly reclip her clip or retie her ponytail. Plus....she's precious! it really makes her look grown up though...a little sad at the same time.

This pic is just Audrey...clearly not wearing anything I stitched up for her. :) She's just a doll....I love that time right before bath. Right after we're done reading books and before I scoop her up and put her in the tub. She gets this wild streak and runs around and spins and sings and acts so so silly. It' a fun time for our little family.

Love Bug

We had a very low key Valentines Day, with dinner at home. Mom and Dad made a Valentines Day card with Audrey for her to give for Patrick and I, which was so cute. We got Audrey a few books, including a Valentine Little Critter Lift the Fla book, which she loves.
I made her this little reverse applique heart shirt, and it's super cute on her. Look at those little pink polka dot socks....;) My two Valentines! How cute are these two!?:)

Sweet little dimples!

Sewing for Audrey

I have been whipping up some fun things for Audrey on my sewing machine lately and I thought I'd share a few pictures of Audrey in some of them.
I made her this precious felt crown.....She loves it! She's been wearing it around a lot and it's so funny to see her playing, wearing a crown! Princess Audrey! No princess is complete without a plushy pink unicorn!
I roasted my very first turkey this past week(it was so good), and while Audrey was playing she stopped to notice my apron I was wearing. I tied one of mine around her waist for her to "cook" too, and she loved it so much I decided to whip her one up at naptime. It's reversible with pink paisley on one side and a blue and white floral on the other and has precious teal blue ricrac around the edges. She was so excited when she got up from her nap!

Here's my little bit in it....I know the picture is sideways, for some reason it wouldn't let me flip it. But it's too cute to not throw this picture in anyways!

She totally loves her apron! She knows she's special in it and loves when Mommy wears her apron at the same time. The day I made it, Audrey was wearing it when Patrick came home and she ran to greet him and patted her apron and said "Daddy!" and was pointing to her newest accessory.:)
Don't you just LOVE her little flippy, slightly curled on the ends bob? Oh, that girl is just too much cuteness in one little person!:)
I also made her a fun I Spy Bag. Which is great for the car, or docs office or anywhere the tot needs some quiet sit down entertainment.
