Thankful

Ok, so the craziness of my morning is leaving me OH SO THANKFUL that I don't have to do this every morning!
Most of you know, my mom comes to my house to keep Audrey three to four days a week, and the other days, one or two days a week, Audrey makes the very short walk...well, her Daddy carries her.....across the street to my good friend Ericka's house. When I say across the street, I literally mean, across the street....I could throw a stone and hit their house, they live so close. It's nice! Patrick and I don't have to pack Audrey up, get her in her carseat and make the trek out of the house with baby and all her stuff in tow. If we're running really late, she can have a jammies day, or her Gran can dress her.
Every so often though, I take Audrey to my parents house in Salem. It's nice for them to be able to stay at their house once in a while without coming to our house. And come on, it's the least I can do to take her there once in a while. My mom makes that morning commute constantly for us. But for me....man it makes for a crazy morning. Audrey of course thinks it's an adventure when Mommy is running around the house like a crazy person (even though I have already gotten things together the night before...there is still always a million things to do) to try to get myself ready, her nursed, dressed, and ready to go. Then when she gets in her carseat in the morning and rides around, then ends at Gran and Papa Joe's house and all the excitement that entails.....it's definitely is a little adventure for her.
This morning, not only was I running late, but a road was closed and I had to snake around a ton
of side streets and go around my elbow to make it to my parents house. I finally made it there, and my dad was waiting for me to pull up. I handed him Audrey's bag and her...still in her carseat, kissed her cheek and left....she was of course thrilled to see him...."this is so fun!" her eyes said. I hopped back in the car and snaked back through side streets to get to my school. Whew!
I must say....to all those parents who take their kids out of the house every morning to the sitters.....I am impressed you make it to work in one piece. I was a little disheveled this morning. I got to school and had to check that all my clothes were in place, that I did in fact have both contacts in my eyes, that I didn't have spit up on me, and that I was in fact wearing a bra.
I am so lucky that I have such a great Mom that will come to my house and a good friend that lives close and will keep my child.....for these things....I AM THANKFUL!

It's a good thing today is Friday!
