Audrey is two weeks old today! I cannot believe how much our lives have changed in a matter of two weeks! We have had an eventful two weeks....I had every intention of blogging about her first week of life, but my days are a bit consumed and although Patrick and I noted the milestone, finding time to actually get on the computer and write about it never happened.
In her first week, she visited the doctors office, where she had a great and very brief check up with her pediatrician. She enjoyed the car ride once we got moving and she was very well behaved through the visit. We spent all of that week settling in, having friends and family in and out, and trying to figure out how to work in time for a shower, time to walk the dogs and time to sit down and eat a meal at the same time. Supper time usually involves Audrey spending half the time in her swing or bouncy seat and the other half the time in one of our arms while we attempt to eat with the other hand.
In her second week she has had some exciting events to take note of. Her umbilical cord fell off, she and I made our first trip out alone together...no Daddy...to Kroger and to visit with her great Nana and Papaw, a few more baths...we moved up to the infant bath tub...no more sponge baths, and we have managed to fall into somewhat of a schedule. This schedule is certainly not set in stone and varies a bit day to day, but she is only 14 days old and I am enjoying the tiny bit of predictability.
We have had several people, family and friends alike, bring us dinner over the last two weeks, for which we are so thankful! It has made life so much easier on us!
Audrey loves to be sung to, loves napping on your chest and in her boppy and is still totally unfazed by the dogs. The girl flies through the diapers and is nursing like a champ, although waking the sweet little girl to nurse is not always an easy task. She is full of adorable little facial expressions and is extra cute when she wrinkles her little forehead up.
We are absolutely loving every minute of parenthood and are constantly marveling at the perfect and amazing little person we created together!
OOOOh Ahsley I love the picture of Audrey on Patricks chest. She is so beautiful and I can not wait to meet her! I do have a present that was meant for your baby shower but it comes with the gift receipt so if you all already have the stuff or don't need it you can take it back and get whatever your heart desires. I'm sooo sooo sooo happy for you two and will hopefully see the three of you soon!
