The other night as I was singing to Audrey while she laid all tucked in in her bed with her little face next to mine she whispered " sing to me Mama, because you have a pretty voice". Sweet sweet girl.  She is her sweetest and most gentle at bedtime.  She is needy but affectionate and dear.  I just love her.  She hugs and kisses over and over.  She rubs my face, she whispers sweet things.  She is a doll baby.

Leaving her door almost completely open at bedtime seems to be keeping her in her bed lately.  Hopefully this will continue to work.  She has figured out that we stay up after putting her to bed so it had become a ritual for her to get up over and over and us to have to put her back to bed over and over.  She would need to pee 3 times, she would need water and another hug and kiss or another stuffed animal...and the list goes on.  But right now, we have something new that works.  Audrey has always been the kid who needs a bedtime change up every few months.  We have to come up with new things that will work.  She keeps us on our toes and keeps our minds moving.  She is actually that way in most aspects of her life.  We have to constantly find new things and methods for daily routines.  Keep it fresh and she'll cooperate.

Tessa is trying so hard to crawl.  It'll still be a few weeks I think, but she is working hard to make it happen.  She gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth.  She gets so excited before she then flattens out and starts rolling.  Last night she was on her belly and SAT HERSELF UP!  She rolled over to her side and the got up on her elbow, then her hand and then sat right up!  We were pretty proud of her.  Serious child proofing is in our NEAR future.  The gate at the top of the stairs is going to have to start being closed at all times again.  Cabinets locked, small toys!!!!!!!! (aka: nearly half of Audrey's things) will have to be up and out of reach.  I will have to be constantly vigilant of what toys have been left on the coffee table or floor.....and that is no easy job because my Audrey likes to collect things and set up scenes for her toys that we are forbidden to move or clean up.  She creates sculptures and zoos or castles and wants to leave them set up for days.  I have my work cut out for me making sure Tessa Kate doesn't get a hold of something one would deem a choking hazard.  Audrey is pretty good about checking the size of things she is playing with though.  I have been teaching her a little at a time about what is too small for Tessa and she is on top of it!  :)

Tessa is NOT sleeping at night.  If possible she is a worse sleeper than her big sister was at this age.  Lord help me.  But...she will sleep one day and when she has babies of her own and they don't sleep I will be able to remind her that she didn't either and that I made it through and so will she.  for now.....biiiiiig yawn.  It's a good thing she is cute and cuddly.  :)
