We came home on Saturday July 14 in the early afternoon. We were so ready to be home with both our girls together. Audrey was floating on air that we were home, that she could snuggle on my lap again, that her big sister was here and that she was getting so many fun "big sister gifts!" She had a great time being with my parents for a few days, and they of course took wonderful care of her.
Tessa was a sleepy little girl and slept so much those first few weeks. She lost a whole pound after birth and dropped down to 7 lbs. 1 oz. and became a bit jaundice. We had to take her in for several weight checks, but she got back up to birth weight within a week and a half and all was well. She just wanted to snuggle and sleep, so waking that girl to nurse was sometimes a job.
This was either early morning or right before bed. The days and nights have run together a bit.
She loves her bouncy seat. She loved it from the moment we came home.
Sweet Sister Love.
Audrey was so excited to have her sister home, to get to hold her, kiss, her smell her.
Pure joy on my girls face!
Audrey said to me " Mommy, I will hold Tessa's hand, so she knows I am right here with her".
Total sweetness.
Daddy and his two girls!
Audrey LOVES Ms. Ericka and Tessa is sure to love her too.
The minute I came home with my tiny new baby, this sweet girl seemed so much bigger! Everyone said it would happen, and boy were they right! She seems taller, heavier, smarter and older all in a few days!
Sweet Tessa Kate
In the early weeks, Tessa loved to lay on my chest right below my chin.
She is a natural big sister!
It was a good few weeks, but took some serious adjusting to life with two!:)
