Audrey had her 9 month check up with her pediatrician this morning. She weighs 18 lbs. and is a tall 28 and 3/4 inches. Her doctor said she was the perfect weight for her height and that she looks great! She was so well behaved while he checked her out, letting him listen to her heart, look in her ears, eyes, nose and even mouth! She got one finger prick, which she was unfazed by, although she did promptly attempt to eat her Dora band-aid, which I had to dig out of her mouth, which was more upsetting for her than the finger prick...go figure. She also had one shot in her leg, and she was tough and cried for only a moment. It was a good appointment and she will go back in 3 months for her one year check up......ONE YEAR! Holy Cow!
She is about to get one of her top teeth....we've suspected it's coming for a few weeks, since she's been chewing on her fingers more and doing lots of drooling (just like with her bottom teeth). The doctor confirmed that it was very close to popping through, he said he could feel it and even see it right behind her gum line. He also said he thought she'd be walking soon too. Now, if only we can get her to walk on her own for the first time when we are home! It breaks my heart to think of Audrey taking her first steps while I am at work, so Mom and Ericka both know that if she does it first and I'm not there that they can't tell me.....they'll just have to act surprised when I tell them she took her first steps and never tell anyone otherwise! Seriously! :)
Now, we're just enjoying our last week and a half of summer. Hope you all are too!:)
