Audrey loved the peas! I wasn't sure she would, but she ate it all. Yum!:)
For anyone iterested, below is how I made the pea puree....if you're not interested, stop reading now:)
After steaming them, I took out a helping for myself and for Patrick onto our dinner plates (and added a tiny bit of salt to ours...none for Audreys), then immediately ran cold water over the rest of the freshly steamed peas. This helped the hulls detach from the centers. After dinner I drained them and stuck them in the food processor with a little splash of breastmilk and turned it on for a good minute. Then scraped the sides and turned it back on for another minute or so. I did this a few times before scraping the puree by spoonfuls into my fine mesh strainer (I love Pampered Chef!). I used a metal spoon to push the puree through, every once in a while scraping the bottom half of the strainer into the bowl below....that's the good stuff.
I scooped out tablespoons of my perfect pea puree into my ice cube tray, leaving one portion in a dish for Audrey for the next day and froze the rest. Cover, Freeze then remove to a freezer bag and label! Done!
