17 weeks!

Today marks 17 weeks! I am feeling very good and enjoying my bump, as well as having a good time wearing some maternity clothes! The baby is growing by leaps and bounds this week as he/she is developing more bones from what was cartilage and is able to move his/her joints. The baby is the size of your open hand this week and weighs in at around 3 1/2 to 4 ounces. Sweat glands are also forming....just in time for this 93 degree weather we are about to have.

I believe I felt the baby move this past Wednesday evening, May 27. We had eaten dinner and I laid on my back on the sofa, hoping to feel the flutter they talk about. After about 30 minutes I was about to get up, when I felt this little bubble in my lower abdomen. It was a really neat feeling and I can't wait to start feeling the baby move more. I know in the coming weeks, our little mover and shaker will begin to make its prescence known more and more with gentle kicks and pokes from within. I will post a new bump picture soon. It seems to be the same size as a few weeks ago, but it's definetly getting more attention these days as friends, family and even strangers notice the unmistakable baby bump...so maybe it is a bit bigger.
