Ahh...children

So I have a funny story to share. In my last class of the day yesterday, one of my Kindergarten classes was busy working on their projects and I was walking around the room checking out their progress, etc. I noticed one little girl, who always says what's on her mind, was checking me out pretty closely. I figured one of two questions was about to be asked: 1.) Mrs. Harmon, what did you eat for lunch?! or 2.) Mrs. Harmon, are you having a baby!? Keep in mind I have yet to tell most of my students that I am expecting, although a few know b/c their parents work here or they have figured it out on their own. So the question that came out of the mouth of this fiery redhead, loud enough for the whole class to hear was....."Mrs. Harmon...why does your belly look big, it's not usually that big!". I decided to go ahead and tell her, and said, "well, that's because I am having a baby"....of course the response from the whole class was...."You are!?!?", "My mom had a baby!", "Will the baby go to school here?", "How big is the baby?". I explained to the kids that when they come back to school after summer and are 1st graders that I am going to look different. I will have a big belly because the baby will be getting bigger. Then came the histerical moment.....a little boy stands up and says, "Well then my mom MUST be pregnant too, because her belly is huge!" (holding his hands out mimicking the size of his mother's belly!) hahahhahaha Kids are FUNNY!
